SENATOR
David Omueya Dafinone was born on March 12, 1927 in Sapele, in the old Bendel State, He is an accomplished accountant, an
administrator, philanthropist and erudite politician .
As a young man he joined the civil service on August 28. 1946 as a third class clerk in the registration and records Department before he rose to become the Acting Administrative officer in the Finance Department.
With his excellent performance as Acting Administratve officer in the Finance Department and as the Assistant Secretary to the special Finance Committee of the big five, he was recommended for the First Devonshire Course in Public Administration at the University of Exeter in August 1951, where he spent two years and obtained a Diploma in Public Administration.
Upon completion of his Diploma Programs Sir Arthur Richards, who had much knowledge about his perfomance in the civil service adviced him to read for a University degree in other to be able to cope with the challenges of the development in Sub - Saharan Africa. He enrolled into the University of Hull to study Economics with specialization in accounting in 1953.He later transferred to the University of London as an external student in 1956 and graduated in 1958. He enrolled for his professional examinations with the institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Nigeria in the year 1970 and joined Delloite as an Audit manager. He founded a firm of Chartered accountants which he named after himself D.O Dafinone & CO.(now Horwath Dafinone).

David Omueye Dafinone announced his arrival on Nigeria’s political landscape
when he won the Bendel South Senatorial election in 1979 Under the platform of
the NPN.
As a Senator, He was amongst those who championed the creation of Delta State from the former Bendel State.
As a nationalist, He is a member of the Patriots, a group of eminent elder statesmen who have been leading the Union of Niger Delta, a non governmental environmental and social Justice pressure group.
Senator Dafinone was married to Chief Cynthia Watson Dafinone, He is blessed with three sons and two daughters, all of whom studied Economics and qualified Chartered Accountants, a world record recognized by the Guiness World book of records.
